Electrical
Every electrical contractor needs to establish as accurate an estimate of the cost of a project as he can to determine the price at which he would do a job. This is called the tender price. Amongst the trickiest variables contractors need to deal with is the cost of labour. Material cost is fairly easy. This is determined by the supplier and the negotiated discount you are able to secure as a contractor. The extent to which you would be able to negotiate this depends on the relationship with the supplier that is often dependent on the history of trading between yourself and that supplier. You then need to decide what your trade mark-up is going to be. (source: Electrical Contractors Association South Africa, ECA)
